OBJECTIVES

This course provides a good knowledge of the basic Portuguese Language. The lessons include a full suply of phonetic exercises to help you to learn Portuguese. Carefully following the instructions, the student will be able, after completing this course, to express him/herself and to understand the structure of the language and to use a basic vocabulary, on the following subjects:

1. To introduce him/herself, to bring greetings, to express his/her thanks, to inform about him/herself
2. To ask for or to give itineraries
3. To ask about fundamental subjects such as food and drinks, emergencies, a specific medical service including doctors, hospitals, first aid, the fire brigade, police, etc.
4. To ask and answer about where, when, who and how to do things
5. To invite and to accept invitations for having meals, to go to the movies, a theatre, etc.
6. Other basic day by day issues
7. Basic conditions of Brazil and cultural aspects like geography, climate, towns, habits, clothing and traditions.
